"I Need Money Now": Get it Right Here Right Now

Help! I Need Money Now

I Need Money Now

Tired of always waiting to get your money from paycheck to paycheck? Looking for a way to earn extra money until it's payday? Want to make extra money to pay off a debt, or buy something new or even maybe go out for a vacation? Some are easier than other, some need some skills, but all of them are achievable. Well, you got it right here. We have put together some of the most common ways to make money.

1. Sell your Stuff

sell your clothesEvery one of us has many things that are just lying in the closet maybe with their tags still on. So open up your closet and see what clothes you no longer wear. Take them to a second hand store in your neighborhood, where they will sort through items and give you cash on the spot which is a way to get fast money. When you bring your items, make sure they are clean and organized. If you go to second hand store and dump your wrinkly clothes on the counter, most probably, they will not be impressed. But, If you go in there with ironed clothes that are all sitting neatly on hangers, you will have a much better chance of selling them. Remember, many secondhand stores also take shoes, purses, and jewelry. If you want to sell things other than clothes, something like old furniture for example. You can post them on the internet on say eBay or Craigslist. Or you can even do it the old fashioned way and set up a garage sale.

2. Become A Street Performer

Can you play the guitar? Do you have some saxophone skills? Do you know how to juggle? If you have a talent, get paid for it. Also, keep in mind that street performers can get some good money just for doing something they love.

3. Rent Some Space.

Other than renting out your extra bedroom and hosting people, you can now rent out the other parts of the house, like basement or garage. Probably you are not utilizing them and you just keep throwing things that you might use one day. So why not get rid of all that junk and rent the space out and get paid for it. Many people lack storage space and are willing to pay some extra bucks to have their things in a safe place.

4. Return your Stuff

A lot of places offer refund or maybe store credit for returned items. If you have something still packed and you're not using it, return it and get some chunk of money. Some places also can give you a refund for broken items. So the next time something breaks in your house, don't just sweep it and throw it out, take it back to the store and you might end up getting a full refund or at least some of it.

5. Become an Online Juror

This is something that I found out recently. Apparently lawyers want to practice, and online juries are a good way for them to put some theories to the test. You can sign up and earn $5-$10 per online appearance, with each one lasting no more than 35 minutes. Find out more at ejury.com.

10 Ways to Set Free Your Inner Money Manager

money manager What makes people stand out when it comes to having good finance habits? How do you know if you're a good money manager or not? Are you paying their bills on time, avoiding interest charges and overage fees, and keeping their debt to a minimum are just some of their common characteristics. These people are usually savers, not spenders. Though they may not have millions of dollars in the bank, the money they have is managed effectively and wisely. Check out these 10 healthy financial habits.

10 Financial Habits You Should Start Today to Be The Best Money Manager You Can Be.

1. Have a Budget

Having a budget is the first step in every organized personal finance plan. Think outside of the normal rent, car payment, and insurance when you start listing your expenses. You need to take into account the hair salon, the weekly Sunday brunch, Netflix costs, and so on. Don’t forget a single $2.50 coffee out! To simplify things in our home we use an umbrella amount of $50 to cover any miscellaneous “fun” spending we do.

2. Never Spend More Than What You Have

With easy access to credit cards it can be tempting to spend more than you have in the bank. I’ll be honest, credit cards have a lot of great advantages! I especially love using cash back bonuses as well. But to be the best money manager you could be, if you feel like the allure of shopping will be more than you can resist, cut up those credit cards immediately!

3. Pay Bills on Time

There are so many ways to make sure a bill is never paid late. You can set a recurring reminder on your phone, set up automatic bill pay, or frequently check all of your bills and accounts. I check my account balances often and still insist on receiving e-bills for all of my expenses. I’ll flag each message until I do my routine paying of the bills at the beginning of each month. I have an easy-to-navigate yet detailed budget spreadsheet that keeps me in line and on top of things. It’s been years since I forgot a payment. Organization and awareness are key to paying your bills on time!

4. Research and Purchase Wisely

You see a new pair of shoes you want to buy while you’re out shopping. Your instinct is to purchase them immediately, right? Immediate satisfaction in shopping can sometimes be the reason you overpay on something. Take a moment to browse on your smartphone or at home to make sure you’re getting the best price available to you. I always check Amazon because of our Prime membership and will usually pay anywhere from 5-20% less than any in-store price. This is especially true for books and clothing. To me, it’s worth saving 20% to wait for the product to be delivered to my home.

5. Involve Everyone

Get everyone in your family involved with keeping to a budget. Sit down together and make a plan that you can all stick to. Work out how much spending money is available and agree between you what you’ll each have.

6. Set a Savings Goal

Some people find it hard to get motivated about saving, but it’s often much easier if you set a goal. Your first step is to have some emergency savings – money to rely on if you have an emergency. Try to get three months’ worth of expenses in an easy or instant access account. Don’t worry if you can’t save this straight away, but keep it as a target to aim for. The best way to save money is to pay some money into a savings account every month.

7. Pay off Debt

Debt is too often a problem whether you’re in your 20’s or beyond. And it will certainly take advantage of you if you’re not paying attention. I cringe when I think of someone having an interest charge on an unpaid credit card balance. Paying off credit cards and loans should be your number one priority because of the interest they accrue and the effect they can have on your credit score.

8. Invest Your Savings

As your savings start to grow, you can:
  • Put more money into your pension. It’s a great way to make sure you’ll be able to live more comfortably later in life.
  • Make an investment plan based on your goals and timeframes.

9. Be Flexible

Life is unpredictable so try and review your budget and your spending if there’s a change, or at least every couple of months. You may get a pay rise, which means you can save more, or you may find your household bills increase.

10. Save for Retirement

“I’ve got time to save so why worry about it?” So many of our youth think like this but the years we have to save money will, unfortunately, fly by. Start building your retirement accounts NOW! Putting it off even five years makes such a difference in the amount you’ll get to live off of in your old age. If your budget is strapped and you can’t set aside large contributions, it’s not the end of the world (though not a prime situation, if I’m being honest). Saving even the smallest amounts every month will eventually add up. Financial habits can be adopted, you don’t have to be born with them. When I was younger I lived by the mentality, “This is how much I have so this is how much I can spend.” I cared little about retirement or savings until I was in college. The way I handle money now is the extreme opposite of how I was back then…thank goodness! You may feel like you’ll never be able to replace your bad habits with good ones, but you can! It’s never too late to change the way you manage your money.   Here are some of the best books that I would definitely recommend: The Total Money MakeoverHow to Manage Your Money When You Don't Have AnyRich Dad's Guide to Investing               So what is financial planning to you? What financial habits do you have? What is your strongest quality when it comes to handling your money?

10 Easy Ways to Save Money

10 Easy Ways to Save Money

ways to save money

The first step to save money is to know how much you’re spending. Keep a record of everything you spend. That means every coffee, every newspaper and every snack you purchase for the entire month. Once you have your data, organize these numbers by categories like gas, groceries, mortgage, etc. and get the total amount for each. After that, you can know exactly where you are spending your money and how much exactly on each category, and you can start saving. Here are 10 ways to save money.

1. Keep Your Eye on the Prize

Staying focused on your goals takes discipline and determination. Saving can be easy and exciting at first, but after a while you may lose that initial motivation and start to find other things you can spend that money on. To avoid that, remember your goals regularly and why you started saving in the first place and keep your eye on the prize.

2. Be A Smart Shopper

Don’t buy without shopping around for the best price, there is always a way to get whatever you want but with better price. Go around various shops and compare their prices, check who can offer some discounts or coupons, look for sales online or in the newspaper. Then, buy the lowest-priced items. Don't stop there. Whatever you saved from the difference of the amount you paid and the amount you would normally spend put that money into a savings account. Even if it's just a few dollars, those small sums will add up.

3. Save the Changesave the change

It seems old-fashioned but it’s the best way to save money. Take the loose change out of your pocket, purse or your car tray, and save it in a jar. Get excited about it and look for other ways to add more money to the jar. For example, every time you withdraw cash from the ATM, put 10% of what you withdraw into your savings jar. From time to time, say every month or quarter, count the money you've accumulated in your jar and add it to your savings account

4. Pay Yourself First

If you want to wait until everything else is paid and save whatever is left over, reconsider your process. It is much better to pay yourself first by creating a savings goal each month, then paying fixed expenses and budgeting the rest for variable spending. Consider putting most of your paycheck into your savings account and making a recurring weekly transfer to cover necessary expenses. This will help you stay on track. Then make a decision each week on where any excess should go: to remain in the account to cover any upcoming expenses or to be dedicated as extra savings.

5. 24 Hour Rule

Follow the 24 hour rule and never purchase expensive items on the spot. Think over each expensive purchase for at least 24 hours. Doing so will result to far fewer regret about impulse purchases, and far more money in your savings account.

6. Quit Smoking

Quit Smoking If you’re still a smoker, you have to know by now that your habit is not only bad for your health and deadly, it is expensive as well. If you want to add years to your life and save some money, the easiest thing to do is to stop smoking. You can try some of the many anti-smoking products that are out there, or switch to an electronic cigarette to buy some time. Whichever path you choose, just get it done and you will be much better off.

7. Stick to the List

Strategic placement of foods as well as desirable packaging often has us leaving the store with a few extra bags leading to too many extra bucks spent. An effective way to stay away from impulse buying is to write a shopping list before going to the grocery store and then stick to it.

8. Take advantage of the Internet

Almost any information you want is available for free online. All those magazines all over the house are just a waste of money, nothing more. All those DVD’s you haven’t watched are just sitting around collecting dust. Why do you need a health club membership when its only costing you money and making you feel guilty because you’re not working out. You can find all the exercises on the internet, also you can go out on the streets for a walk or run.

9. Treat Yourself Wisely

We all love to buy new clothes, eat delicious food, hit the spa or see a rock band from the front row. But all those things are called luxuries for a reason and should be purchased in moderation. From time to time you deserve to feel special and it’s ok to treat yourself! Just make sure it's something you really want, and try to spend your money on experiences you'll always remember.

10. Buy in Bulk

When it comes to non-perishable items, buy in bulk whenever you find an offer or something on sale. The items I usually stock up on are, cereals, canned foods, rice, beans, pasta, toothpaste, body wash, shampoo, toilet paper etc. For such items, shopping at warehouse stores can save you some money, provided you stick strictly to your shopping list.

Save Money with This Simple Method

There are different ways to save money — some people save their windfalls, like tax refunds or bonuses — but the best way to save money is to do it habitually (i.e. every week) and automatically (so that you don't really have to think about it.)

Save Money with the 52-week Savings Challenge

Here's how it works: In week 1, you save $1. In week 2, you save $2. In week 3, you save $3. No, there isn't a lot of money flowing into your savings account (yes, it goes into an account, not a jar) in the beginning, but you're building a habit. By week 26, when you save $26, you'll have $351. By week 40, when you save $40, you'll have $820. And by this time next year, you'll have $1378! But more importantly, you'll be a practiced saver, and saving will be a habit. As you follow this plan, keep checking back for a new tip each week on how to maximize your savings. Save Money with the 52-Week Money Challenge
